Survivor

 

Simonett awoke in a dimly lit room, cold chains binding her wrists and ankles. The air was thick with the scent of rust and despair. She scanned her surroundings, spotting a small, grimy window high on the wall. Her heart raced, but she steadied her breath, focusing on the task at hand.

With determination, Simonett began to examine the chains. After what felt like hours, she found a loose bolt on one of the shackles. Using a sharp piece of metal she found on the floor, she pried the bolt free. One hand now liberated, she quickly worked on the other, the taste of freedom growing stronger with each movement.

Finally, she stood up, her legs shaky but resolute. Simonett climbed towards the window, using the chains as makeshift steps. She squeezed through the narrow opening, emerging into the cool night air. As she ran towards the distant lights of a nearby town, she knew she had outsmarted her captors. Her survival was not just a matter of luck, but of relentless courage and ingenuity.
